Concepción e suas rotas / Concepción and its routes

 Isto de viver no fim do mundo tem que se lhe diga. A cidade de Concepción não é uma cidade turística, destino de férias ou de lazer. É uma cidade universitária e empresarial. é pequena mas a segunda maior do Chile. É simples mas funcional. Está longe de tudo mas ligada ao mundo por um aeroporto e um dos principais portos do país. Tem a praia a 30 minutos e a montanha com estâncias de ski a 1.5h. Aqui o ar não é poluído e o centro faz-se a pé. Eu gosto. Uma das primeiras coisas que procuro e quero conhecer nas cidades são os seus mercados. É nos mercados onde conseguimos ver a dinâmica das populações. Concepción tinha um mercado central que ardeu num incêndio em 2013, e agora o abastecimento central de productos fora do circuito "grandes superfícies" é feito num mercado abastecedor longe do centro - A Vega Monumental. Ainda assim na cidade encontra-se uma "Vega Chica" que apesar de pequenina eu sinto-lhe o charme. Apesar desta vega, acho interessante que numa cidade de tamanho considerável as melhores verduras e frutas se comprem a vendedores ambulantes em pleno centro. Fotos e mais informação em breve.

Concepción is not a touristic city. People don't come here for summer time or beach around. This is a university and business oriented city. It is small but yet the second largest in Chile, it is simple yet functional, its far away but connected by airport and one of the major sea ports in the country. One can have beach at 30 minutes (in the summer please...now it's frezing cold), and mountain for skiing at 1.5h distance. It's not polluted and one can walkabout in the center without needing a car or any other transport. I like it. One of the things I search first in a city is the market. One cannot feel the dynamic of the people without going to the market. Concepción used to have a central large market but it was destroyed in 2013 by a fire and since then the only "non supermarket" market access is a retailers distribution center far from the city center. Still...there is a shy by charming small market in the city and though doesn't offer much it has a delicious simplicity. However I must say that I think it's adorable that in a city of decent dimensions such as Concepción, the best fruits and vegetables are available in the streets by the hand of walking vendors.
